April 7, 2008 Kerrville, TX

We left Victoria on Monday, March 31 heading to Kerrville. There was potential bad weather so we stopped in Seguin, TX at D&A RV http://www.dnarvresort.com/ . It works for an overnight, but that is all.

Tuesday, we arrived at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort http://www.buckhornlake.com/ This is a first class place--wonderful in every way. We are in site 6121 facing a small stream which is stocked for fishing (catch and release). We were planning on staying here for a month, but may leave early so that we can see more of the state.

We are really disappointed that this is a bad year for the beautiful Texas Bluebonnets. There has not been enough rain, and there are very few showing. Hopefully there will be more when we travel to other areas.

Today we went driving around the area. Wandered around the streets of Fredericksburg, which is a neat little German town with lots of shops to check out.

After Fredericksburg we went to Luckenbach, the home of Waylon, Willie, and The Boys. Not much there except the old dance hall and bar.

Even in the middle of the day, it is a lively place.
One can only imagine the activity on a Saturday night.

There are a bunch of wineries in the Texas Hill Country and we are going to visit several of them. We went to one today in Sisterdale, population 25! http://www.sistercreekvineyards.com/ Of course, we bought a couple of bottles of wine, but don't have a lot of storage space, so will have to drink as we go!
